The IBF lightweight world champion, Richard Commey, delivered a strong notice in a dominant eighth-round stoppage of veteran Ray Beltran to stay on course the hugely anticipated unification battle with the pound-for-pound great Vasiliy Lomachenko in the first quarter of 2020.
Earlier, news broke out that the former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) lightweight champion, Raymundo Beltran, is considering retiring from the sport after his knockout defeat to the Jamestown native, as Ghana is yet to see its proud son and hero come home this Monday, after his momentous feat achieved in the Square Circle far away USA.
Richard Commey made history on the 2nd of February in Frisco, Texas at the Ford Center when he KOed his Russian opponent Isa Chaniev in round 2 of the scheduled 12 rounder and outdid himself in his first defense against Mexican Raymundo Beltran a fortnight ago with an obliterating knockout victory.
