HSTV will telecast live the hugely anticipated bout between Ghana’s World Boxing Organisation Africa Super Bantamweight Titlist Wasiru Mohammed and his counterpart from Tanzania Loren Japhet live on 29th June, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Accra, Ghana.
This was made possible by the management of the Ghanaian promising boxer well known as GyataBi. When the host of the Ultimate Sports on HSTV, Samuel Ofosuhene contacted Mr. Ellis Quarshiga, the renowned lawyer and co-manager of Wasiru Mohammed confirmed the permission and authorisation.
“This is probably going to be Wasiru’s last fight in Ghana. For us (E&J Promotions) we are building the Wasiru brand so why not? HSTV officially has our permission to broadcast the fight live into the homes of all Ghanaians.”
Wasiru is ranked number 1 by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), number 14 by the WBO world and is the current WBO Africa Super Bantamweight champion.
‘Lion’s cub’ literally translated (GyataBi) scored a dominant TKO victory against the then undefeated Isaac Sackey ( 23-1-1, 20KOs) at the Bukom Boxing Arena last year October 13 enroute to the WBO African strap. Already, his stocks are on the rise as many sees him competing for world honors in the not too distant future.
The Ghanaian is arguably amongst the top 10 pound-for-pound young promising boxers in his Super Bantamweight division. No wonder the best boxing channel, HSTV is giving him the exposure by broadcasting the bout live to the homes of all Ghanaians with the support and permission from his handlers the E&J Promotions.
