Teofimo Lopez must now back his talks with a win against Ghana’s Richard Commey after stating in many interviews his intentions of knocking the latter flat out, come fight night Saturday 14, December 2019 at the Madison Square Garden, New York, USA.
In his recent interview, the Hungarian American is now adopting a new strategy, basically mind games, in the quest to unsettle the current IBF lightweight champion Richard Commey, stating
“That’s the guy that is in front of me right now, and I know that. Honestly, this is huge, man. I didn’t notice it. I am now. This is big, man,” Teofimo Lopez expressed with witty intentions.
Lopez who had earlier remarked “I believe this fight will shut up all of the critics and prove to everyone that I back up my talking in the ring. I respect Commey as a champion, but when we’re in that ring, it’s going to be lights out for him. Come December 14, I am officially taking over the lightweight division.”
The American youngster has always been a big talker, including his father and trainer who has always seen Richard Commey as the obstacle to dream of securing a world title fight, as well as unifying the WBC, WBA and WBO lightweight titles against Vasiliy Lomachenko.
They have disrespected and talked down the current IBF champion Richard Commey in so many ways, so it comes as odd for Lopez to suddenly turn around and start showing Commey some respect.
What is clear is that the Ghanaian is very determined and appreciates the task in front of him, as reflected in his recent social media post.
“It is Almost time to make Ghana proud again. God of Heavens!.”
Come Saturday the 14th of December, is it going to be the AND STILL or THE NEW……Your guess is as good as ours.
