This year’s Sports Writers Association of Ghana Awards (SWAG AWARDS) has Abraham Mensah and Joseph Commey penciled for boxer of the year award.
Abraham Mensah lost 5-0 at the finals of the Bantamweight finals against Dylan Eagleson at the just ended Commonwealth Games whilst Joseph Commey who was scheduled to fight in the featherweight finals was reported ill and could not fight.
They both walked away with a silver medal however, Joseph Commey won Amateur Boxer of the year 2022 award held by Boxing Ghana ( Boxing Ghana Awards 2022).
The 47th edition of the yearly scheme is set to go down tonight at the Accra Conference Centre.
The first edition was formed in 1968. The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) is professional body that includes sports journalist, analysts, commentators and recognized sports associations in Ghana.
