According to the Chief Executive Officer of Streetwise Promotions and Management Michael Amoo-Bediako Senior, he has not received any official communication from the Ghana Boxing Authority on his suspension.
“I have not received anything official direct from the GBA so I cannot comment at this moment.” He said when Boxing Ghana contacted him.
President of the Ghana Boxing Authority earlier in an interview confirmed our earlier report that it has formally revoked the liscensed of Richard Commey’s manager
“Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) hereby formally withdraw your license and suspend you indefinitely as a boxing manager and promoter under the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) with effect from Monday 17 January, 2022.” The letter stated.
The letter further handed the British Ghanaian manager an indefinite suspension
“Your suspension follows an act of disrespect and misconduct by you and your boxer Richard Commey in recent times towards the Ghana Boxing Authority in view of issues which you were cordially invited to come into terms of agreement with the GBA.”
But when Boxing Ghana reached out to the promoter/manager on the subject, he declined to comment stating that he has had no official comunica from the outfit.
Relationship between the GBA and Streetwise Management has gone bad due to a purported disagreement on a developmental fee which is to be remited from boxers’ purses but apparently not forthcoming.
The bone of contention perhaps is the question of whether or not boxers not liscensed with GBA should be made to still pay the money?
