Robert Quaye aka ‘Stopper’ who was beaten by George Ashie on Sunday at the Bukom Boxing Arena for the IBF Continental African title has begged his fans and admirers for his poor performance and hopes to come back better.

He said it was due to his lifestyle that the whole Arena was against him, and he lost miserably by falling in the 8th round.

He promised to change his character and be a good boy in future so that he will not lose all his fans.

The UBO title holder who trains at the Gym apologized also to his coaches and the entire boxing fraternity.

“I would like to thank God for allowing me to showcase to the world another part of me and also I would like to thank my family, my team and my fans for sticking by my side through the process and even after the fight night, am sorry for disappointing you all this time, I was disappointed with the outcome myself but reflecting on my journey I know this loss is a wake up call and its a blessing in disguise” he said.

“I will bounce back stronger #teamstopper, I won’t let you down twice, thank you all” he concluded.

Quaye who was then undefeated now has a record of 20-19-1.

Meanwhile, Box Office Sports Promotions have been congratulated for the organization of the programme by providing adequate security and order at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has also been commended for supporting Box Office to stage one of the best bouts in Ghana Boxing history.
