Snow didn’t really come to fight – Duke Micah
Thomas Snow( 19-4, 12 KO’s) simply wanted to spoil the party for the ‘terminator’ but Duke resisted the temptation and won on points at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn -USA on Saturday.
The WBC International Bantamweight belt was kept safe from the first to the final rounds as the Ghanaian dominated most of the rounds.
Credit must be accorded Thomas Snow for his experience and sharpness on the night and like Duke reiterated “It was a tough fight.”
Snow, relied mostly on his experience
“Snow didn’t really come to fight. He ran most of the time and when I did catch him, he held on for his dear life.” Duke retorted in disappinment.
But the good thing is the fact that there are lessons to be learnt from this bout as his manager rightly pointed out.
“It was a tough fight but he must improve, we have the people to make sure he does” Michael Amoo Bediako said.
The judges scored the bout 97-92 and 97-93 For Duke Micah and 95-94 For Thomas Snow. With this win Ghana’s world champion in the making has now improved to (22-0, 18 KOs).
Like all Ghanaians, Duke was glad to retain his belt
“I was glad to retain my belt tonight, I want to thank all my team and everyone at @TheRealDealBox @Venumfight and @Streetwisemgt for supporting me. @EJBentley828 @holyfield @BoxingGhana @BoxAfrica.” Duke expressed on his handle.
This is the second defence of his WBC International Bantamweight belt after his scheduled fight with Frenchman Yoan Boyeaux got cancelled because of the latter’s inability to make the weight.
The Ghanaian is still undefeated and his ratings keeps soaring by the day. He is one of Ghana’s finest prospects and definitely a star in the making.
Together with Frederick Lawson, Isaac Dogboe, Richard Oblitey Commey, Emmanuel Tagoe, George Ashie, Sharif Quaye and a host of many others whose names we will mention later, the future of Ghana Boxing is very bright.
