Ghana Boxing has been on the rise following the three national amateur boxers competing in the Tokyo Olympics. For some time, no one stayed up to watch a boxing bout but after the Black Bombers qualified to the Tokyo Olympic Games, people were seen on the streets as early as 2am jubilating and that is a sign of bringing back the love of boxing in Ghana once again.
Ghana has been on the back foot as amateur boxers hardly got the platform to exhibit their talent either for assessing their strengths or to catch the eye of a promoter and manager who are willing to take them through the ranks in branding and coaching.
Silver Black Promotions as part of ensuring they give amateur boxers the platform to showcase what they have, has come out with an all-amateur bout themed “Kings Belt”. This is going to be a one of a kind event as it doesn’t feature any pro fighter rather than amateur boxers who are trying to make a name in the industry.
On the bill for the night will be the following bouts
Two members of the Black Bombers, Sarah Apew and Fairuza Osuman fighting out of the Fits Square Gym battle it out for glory
Daniel Melton Jnr., a Black Bomber who fights out of the Attoh Quarshie Gym mounts the canvass against Eric ‘Canelo’ Asante fighting out of the Charles Quattey Boxing Gym
Richard ‘Guyguy Boxer’ Odenkey fights out of the Attoh Quarahie Gym against Iron Boy fighting from the Mighty Gym.
The bout that has got many in anticipation is between Benjamin ‘1 Blow’ Atiaku vs Osu Lion who are fighting from the Charles Quartey and Mighty Gym respectively with a special attraction also from Prince Larbi the young yet enterprising boxer who has already been signed to various outfits both home and abroad.
Do not miss out on the thrills and breathtaking swerves and jaw breaking punches as amateur fighters always come in hot and deliver.
The Event is set to be staged at the Osu Salem Park, Osu, Accra, Ghana on Friday August 27, 6pm.
