Self styled “One Bullet” Michael Ansah has delivered a thinly dig at his nemesis on March 8,
Ghana’s Lightweight Champion Sheriff Quaye has been branded as a “truck pusher” ahead of their titanic second time battle scheduled for the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana.
“I want to tell all of you here that Sheriff Quaye is no boxer, he is just a truck pusher pretending to be a boxer.” He told BoxingGhana.Com in a presser organised by Box Office Sports promotions yesterday.
When BoxingGhana asked Sheriff Quaye (17-1-1,10 KOs) what informed his decision to accept a rematch from a fighter that he decisioned last year 2018 at the maiden Asamoah Gyan fight Night1 in September, Sheriff reiterated his firm desire to totally and finally prove to the fans that he is a class above Michael Ansah (16-9-2,10KOs).
“I only accepted the fight because the fans wanted me to and also as a sign of respect for the fans. The fact that Michael Ansah is talking big is equally a factor. I know I am a class above Michael Ansah in boxing, hence my decision to finally bring to an end the debate. I want to prove beyond every shred of doubt that I am a better fighter than he is and that he is not in the same league as me.” Sheriff replied.
The press conference took place at the new MultiChoice Ghana’s office located at Abelemkpe in Accra.
Also on the card is former IBF world welterweight titlist from 2008 to 2009 Joshua Clottey (39-5,22 KOs) who prepares for a comeback against Tanzanian
Mfaume Mfaume (14-5-2,6KOs) over ten rounds.
Chief Executive Officer of Box Office Alex Ntiamoah and his matchmaker Lord Amihere must be commended for pitting these two local favourites together for the second time.
Indeed the bragging rights of Bukom is at stake in the “Bukom Brawl” come 8 of March 2019.
