News gathered by Boxinghana.com is that Ghana’s light heavyweight representative at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Shakul Samed has been suspended by the Commonwealth Games chiefs after he failed a doping test.
It is understood that Samed’s ‘A’ sample was found to contain a prohibited substance. He was scheduled to face Luc Jean Rosalba of Mauritius.
Meanwhile, Abdul Wahib Omar secured a win against Jamie Divine of Isle of Man by 4 – 1 in the over 60kg-63.5kg (Lt Welterweight) Round of 32. This qualifies the 28 year old pugilist to the round of 16 where he’ll need to secure a win to enter into the medal zone.
Up next tomorrow, our featherweight (54kg – 57kg) rep, Joseph Commey will meet Betero Aaree of Kiribati in the round of 32.
