Ghana’s gold medal hope in boxing, Shakul Samed lost 1-4 to Pita Kabeji Peter of Congo in the men’s light heavyweight 81 kg category at the 12th African Games in Morocco.
Ghana’s boxing tournament is over at the 2019 Africa Games after the only semi finalist, Shakul is guaranteed a bronze, Ghana’s only medal in boxing.
Ghana took 10 boxers to the Games, made up of 8 males and 2 females, but after putting up good fights, they all lost gallantly.
The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) will plan better and see if the team can make it to the Olympic Games with a Qualifier in Senegal.
Tunisia could also host the African Olympic Qualifying Tournament for the Tokyo 2020.
