Ghana’s Super Middleweight World Title contender Sena Agbeko made a quick work of Bruno Romay on Saturday night October 14 at The Sioux City Convention Centre, Sioux City, Iowa.
The bout, staged by Evangelos Giovanis’ 15th Round Promotions was scheduled for ten rounds but “The African Assassin” as Sena is called, pummelled Romay, now 22-12 into submission in the second round.
Landing left hooks and hard rights to the head and body of his foe right from the bell, he clearly dominated until a solid right hand on the button sealed the torment.
Agbeko whose record improves to 28-2, 22 ko’s is arguably the most avoided fighter at 168 lbs as he’s had fights with David Morrell Jnr and Demetrius Andrade foiled for flimsy reasons; worst case being the Morrell Jnr fracas where the latter glaringly chickened out.
The hard-hitting current US WBC Champion vented his spleen and frustration on an obstinate Romay who had no antidote to his onslaught.
With Mexican Superstar Canelo Alvarez sitting atop the 168 lbs pile, Sena, who’s been based Stateside for over a decade is unfazed in the quest for World Championship glory and would relish a date with the ginger-haired operator.
