The light middleweight Agbeko was the better fresher boxer by far as he inflicted defeat on Brian Vera who once held the International Boxing Association Intercontinental Super Middleweight Title.

He took time to express his appreciation and happiness on his facebook wall

“Glory to God almighty for a good win. I wanna thank my team, family and community for standing by me through it all. This was just another step in the journey towards my ultimate dream of world championship glory. I love my community out here in the US particularly Nashville and my ever loyal fan base back home in Ghana. Without your support, all this wouldn’t be possible.” Agbeko posted.

For many Ghanaians this may come as small compensation to an earlier blow, when Ghana’s sole world champion Isaac Dogboe lost his WBO Super Bantamweight strap to Mexican Emanuel Navarrete via a unanimous points decision at the Madison Square Gardens in the US of A

Agbeko won via a unanimous points decision.
