Former sparring partner of Floyd Mayweather who happens to be Bukom Banku’s bitterest nemesis in the noble art of pugilism Samir Bastie, has accepted the challenge for a rematch.

Speaking in an interview on GBC Sports Plus with Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, Bastie took time to address Bukom Banku

“My vision is the world title but if Banku wants a fight why not…. I will give him a chance, only that this time I may end it quicker than the last time.” Bastie stated.

The defunct marquee boxer previously with Oscar de La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions revealed his ambitions of winning the world strap for his motherland

“I want to win the world title for Ghana. I am very hungry to win the world title. Previously i did not have a good team.” He said, and further elaborated his point using the Dogboe’s

“Isaac Dogboe is an example to emulate, more especially on his father’s input……I respect Dogboe’s father a lot, He has proven that you don’t just need a good boxer but equally good team to help to win the world title and to help you navigate through.” Bastie explained.

Nicknamed ‘the Beast,’ Bastie Samir is undefeated in 16 fights, won 15, a solitary draw with an outstanding 15KOs.

The former Las Vegas, Nevada, based boxer is aiming at a comeback on February 1, a day before Richard Commey’s world title decider

“I have a fight on 1st February 2019 in New York.” He said

He took time to express his appreciation to follow boxer Ayittey Powers and musician KK Fosu for their role in securing a new management. He always expressed his utmost confidence in his trainer.

“I have an excellent technical handler in coach Asare and i have utmost faith in him.” Samir Bastie said.

Earlier, Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku threw a challenge for a rematch after he was devastatedly knocked out in the seventh round by Samir Bastie last year. A defeat that the Jamestown native is yet to come to terms with hence the call for a rematch.
