Ryan Garcia dares Gervonta Davis for a showdown in December

Undefeated lightweight star Ryan Garcia was a very interested observer on Saturday night, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Garcia sat ringside, to watch Gervonta Davis retain his WBA “regular” lightweight title with a sixth round knockout unbeaten puncher Rolando Romero.

Afterwards, Garcia took to social media to call for the Davis fight.

Garcia is currently scheduled to see action on July 16.

“Let me handle business on July 16th. I’m going to get Tank, he was screaming the whole fight. I’m next so let it be.. December let’s get it,” Garcia stated.

One of the biggest issues to come up with making such a fight, are their promotional and network affiliations.

Davis stated in several pre-fight interviews that he’s leaving Mayweather Promotions, but he intends to stay with adviser Al Haymon and Premier Boxing Champions. PBC has an exclusive content deal with Showtime and Fox Sports.

On the other end, Garcia is contractually tied to Golden Boy Promotions, who have an exclusive deal with streaming service DAZN.

Very recently, when PBC and Golden Boy tried to make a fight between middleweights Jermall Charlo and Jaime Munguia, the negotiations fell apart when Golden Boy stood firm on their position that in order to provide Munguia there would have to be a co-promotional pay-per-view event between DAZN and Showtime.
