Robert Quaye vs George Ashie

Current undefeated Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) International Super Lightweight Champion, Robert Quaye is on a mission to prove his mettle and command the biggest bragging rights in Jamestown, formerly British-Accra.

At stake, a claim to the top 15 rankings in the world in pursuit of his long held world title dream with the only thing standing his way, the very tough and experienced George Ashie.

Set for Ghana’s Independence Day the 6th of March, 2022 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra-Ghana. The self styled “Stopper” is about to embark on a special survival mission against a sworned nemesis who is ready to go for blood and revealed in our earlier interview that “Robert Quaye is going to lose that night”

George Ashie aka ‘Red Tiger’ roars – “Robert Quaye is going to lose that night”

In our attempt to have a balanced reportage ahead of the hugely anticipated duel made possible by Box Office Sports Promotions bankrolled by Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye, we caught up with Robert Quaye (20-0, 17KOs) ahead of George Ashie (32-5-1, 21 KOs) clash and posed almost similar questions to him; enjoy the dialogue

Que: What should your fans be expecting from you come fight night ?

Quaye: It’s going to be a cracker which both fans are expecting but they will never get tired of applauding through the rounds.

Que: Are you afraid of George Ashie ?

Quaye: Not at all, Yes I respect him as a senior colleague but AFRAID? NO! There’s nothing like that in my Dictionary.. He’s just like one of the boxers I’ve been in the ring with, there’s nothing extra ordinary about him.

Que: How is the fight going to end…. full 12 rounds or a knockout

Quaye: One thing for sure is I can assure you of WAR on that night but whether to earn the victory by a knockout or decision I will say I will love to keep that for now and 2 things for certain is I will hand him his 6th painful Loss.

Que: Is there a reason you accepted the fight?

Quaye: This is one fight I started pursuing when we both were in the Lightweight division, I started calling him out ages ago so as the opportunity knocked my door I had no reason to even have a second thought on accepting it.

You can love him, you can hate him, but you can’t ignore his confidence and charisma as good for boxing business and against perhaps the toughest opponent and toughest fight in his career. Robert Quaye versus George Ashie is a fight set for the boxing gods.
