Richard Commey is all clear to defend his vacant strap he won against Russia’s Isa Chaniev on Feb 2, 2019 in Frisco Texas.

In a tweet this morning the Ghanaian disclosed the good news to fans .

” GREAT NEWS I saw the hand specialist this morning and he has given me the all clear so i cant wait to get back to the USA to start training for my first defense of my IBF lightweight world title.” Commey revealed.

Richard Commey was originally scheduled to fight Ukranian poster boy Vasily Lomachenko after the world title fight with Isa Chaniev in his first defense on April 12 but unfortunately sustained an injury which meant the cancellation of the bout. Now Lomachenko is set to fight Crolla in place of Commey

Vasyl Lomachenko will now defend his unified lightweight world titles against Anthony Crolla at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Anthony Crolla is the former WBA lightweight champion and is now mandatory challenger for his old belt.
