Last Saturday, 22nd August was a black day for us all after we lost a great talent John Commey, a Ghanaian Amateur boxer with the Black Bombers.
Just like exceptional champions do, the former IBF Champion Richard Commey offered to train with him and Amui Commey, both being his family members. In a tweet on 29th July, few weeks ago, Richard Commey said
“I’m looking forward to helping these two young exciting boxers follow in my footsteps. If they listen to people like my manager @Mickey_Moo and dedicate themselves to their craft I’m sure they will go a long way in the game!”
That was a marvelous inspiration for the young chaps having to train with a world champion, but destiny had other plans and God knows best.
Both Richard Commey and his manager paid homage to John Commey a little while after his demise last weekend.
“My deepest condolences to all of our family members after one of our own passed away. John Commey was a talented amateur and I was looking forward to mentoring him through his boxing career. May he rest in eternal peace 🙏🏿🇬🇭💔” from Richard Commey via twitter.
Michael Amoo-Bediako in a shock also posted a pic he recently took with John (deceased) and Amui Commey and stated, “Sad to hear of the passing of the talented amateur boxer John Commey. (Left) As a member of @RichardCommey family we were so looking forward to working with him. May he rest in peace 💔”
JOHN COMMEY, WE LOVE YOU BUT GOD LOVES YOU MORE. RIP BRO.
