Come Saturday, 12, September 2020, BT Sport Studio, Stratford, London, United Kingdom will see maverick Ghanaian heavyweight touchbearer with a record 14-2, 11 KOs to his name, Richard Lartey, take on UK’s Nathan Gorman in what promises to be an evenly matched contest.

The 10 rounds heavyweight clash is been promoted by Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, and is set to be live on BT Sport.

This is Richard Lartey’s second showing in the United Kingdom after losing to Frank Warren’s treasured protege Daniel Dubois via a round 4 TKO.

The encounter is going to be Lartey’s third fight outside of his native Accra when he travelled to Berne and Wembley Arena but suffered defeats to both Ergun Mersin and Daniel Dubois respectively.

Nathan Gorman, a former WBC International Silver heavyweight titlist from 2017 to 2019 lost his last fight to the self styled ‘Dynamite’ Daniel Dubois, same as Richard Lartey.

The Irishman, Gorman, is a direct cousin to heavyweight boxers Tyson Fury and Hughie Fury and would be hoping for a resounding victory against his Ghanaian nemesis in order to wipe away his brutal round 5 TKO defeat at the hands of fellow Brit who happens to be the WBO Global champ, Dubois.

Gorman is ranked 35th in the heavyweight world as against that of Lartey’s 181st, but the former WBO Africa champion has a slight height and reach advantage over his English counterpart 196cm/77 to 194cm/73 respectively.

In his outings, Gorman has 17 bouts in 81 rounds of professional pugilism action, that translates to a KO percentage ratio of 64.71% to Lartey 68.75%.

Arguably the most anticipated fight in the Ghanaian boxing calendar, behind the world title decider between Bantamweight Duke Micah and John Riel Casimero billed on the 26th of September 2020.

Boxing Ghana is set to cover these two important bouts, hence watch the space for more updates.
