Ghanaian born British national Joshua Buatsi (9-0, 7KOs) will fight
MTK Global’s and the current English light heavyweight champion Liam Conroy (16-3-1,8KOs) on March 23, 2019 at the Copper Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney Wick, London, United Kingdom.

The current World Boxing Association International Light Heavyweight title holder and an Olympian who won a Bronze Medal at the Rio games in 2016 is preparing to fight Barrow In Furness -Cumbria born Liam Conroy for the vacant BBB of C British Light Heavyweight Title.

Born in Accra -Ghana, Joshua moved to the UK at the age of nine where he started his pugilism career. He signed with Matchroom Sports two years ago and has never looked back.

For many connoisseurs of the sweet science, Buatsi is the future of boxing. Credit must be accorded to both the English Institute of Sport based in Sheffield in the United Kingdom and owner of Matchroom Sport, Eddie Hearn for nurturing the young crack boxer to the fighter he is today in the light heavyweight division.

Buatsi is fast establishing his credentials as one of the brightest prospects in the sport of boxing today. With his 9 victories in 29 rounds of boxing, his 7 TKO’s translates in percentage term as 78%.

He comes up against a much experienced boxer in Liam Conroy though Conroy is 26 years and Buatsi is 25 indicating just a year difference between the two. Conroy has 20 bouts and 96 rounds of boxing.

Joshua Buatsi is managed by fellow African naturalised British, world heavyweight(WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO) champion Anthony Joshua.

After going through the amateur ranks  with some peerless displays,  Buatsi turned professional on 5th June, 2017.

Five-weight divisional king Floyd Mayweather attempted to sign the Ghanaian blooded fighter but was too little too late because King Eddie Hearn had together with his flagship boxer Anthony Joshua secured Buatsi’s services.

So what is so special about Joshua Buatsi, the much talked about star of the future and the soon to become cash cow of Matchroom Sports?

Like all Ghanaian champions, Buatsi is such a classy operator with a dangerously fast hands. He has the penchant knack to go for a knockout when he smells blood.
