Training vigorously for extended days can have a toll on a person if ample rest and the physiotherapist is not engaged. The Black Bombers on a budget to make it to the Tokyo Olympic games in Japan have had to train under all circumstances to sure they qualify for and exert the presence while at the tournament proper.
With little to afford a physiotherapist for the Black Bombers, it was always amazing how the team had managed to remain in shape in training and after training until the introduction of an individual and a representative of the Bukom Fitness and Physio noticed the need to engage the Black Bombers with an offer to render physio services to the Black BomberS at no charge whatsoever.
Boxing Ghana on the day had a conversation with Mr. Okyere Baffour Agyei who is the Physiotherapist at the Bukom Fitness and Physio and he made known some of the reason why it was important to engage the Black Bombers.
“BFP decided to assist the Bombers with our gym facility to aid the team adequately prepare to the Olympics. Therefore, as the Physio in charge, I had to assist with the treatment of any injuries the athletes had.”
Its always been a joy when people who understand the need to assist come into play when needed and Mr. Okyere Baffour Agyei is no exception, his patience and understanding was very instrumental as he tutored the team on the need to ensure a daily routine to prevent any massed up injuries before the Olympics in Tokyo.
Mr. Baffour Agyei in his latter remarks stated, “the gold is the ultimate, they should believe in themselves and make Ghana and their families proud.”
He also expressed his delight at the rate of improvement in the training session and the stamina the team has been working on and urged all others to bring their hands-on deck to support the dream for laurels during this Olympics and more.
With his job as a Physio, Mr. Baffour Agyei urged the team and sundry to make the Physiotherapist their friend as their doors are always opened to ensure timely interventions which would curb any accumulated injuries that could put them out of the game during their daily routine.
