Wasiru Mohammed proved too strong for Raymond Commey in their super bantamweight battle on Saturday night at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Mohammed successfully defended his National belt after stopping the experienced Commey in round two.

Prior to the fight, the connoisseurs predicted that the tie will travel the full 12 rounds but Mohammed had different ideas.

Mohammed, who was making his first defense of his strap in the first round was the better boxer landing some combinations, forcing Commey to move back.

In the second round, Mohammed broke down Commey to claim the needed win.

“Raymond Commey is a good boxer,”Mohammed said after the fight. “I came into the ring to defend my belt and that was my target.”

“I knew Commey will not continue, if he feels my power and that was what happnened in round two.”

He continued, “I’m now ready to take on any boxer in my division, my aim is to be a world champion and we are working towards it.”

Mohammed becomes the second boxer to stop Commey after Samuel Otu.

With the win, Mohammed has improved to 8-0, (8 KOs), while Commey’s current record stands at 18-7, (10 KOs).

The card was put together by E&J Promotions.
