Ghana’s Richard Commey and Russia’s Isa Chaniev made their weight ahead of their Saturday’s February 2, 2019 clash.
The two will battle each other for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) world lightweight belt in Frisco, Texas.
Ahead of the fight, Commey-Chaniev had their mandatory weigh-ins at the fight’s venue on Friday, February 1, 2019.
It was Chaniev who first stepped on the scales and he weighed 134.6Ibs.
However, Commey also stepped on the scales and came in at 134.3Ibs.
The upcoming fight will be Commey’s second shot at the world title – his first was in 2016 when he lost to America’s Robert Easter Jr. via a disputed split decision for this same IBF title.
For Chaniev, it will be his first world title shot since turning pro in 2015.
Should Commey win, he will become Ghana’s ninth world champion after DK Poison, Azumah Nelson, Nana Yaw Konadu, Ike Quartey, Alfred Kotey, Joseph Agbeko, Joshua Clottey and Isaac Dogboe.
