Ghana’s WBO African welterweight champion Patrick Allotey is set to touch gloves with Ugandan Badru Lusambya this morning the 12th of August 2018 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra-Ghana.

After 196 rounds of boxing, Allotey has chalked 38 victories, 30 of which came by way of Knockouts with 3 defeats.

He is going to fight his fellow pugilist and foe Ugandan nicknamed “the crush” Badru Lusambya.

Badru Lusambya.

Badru has an incredible fight record of 26 Knockouts, 3 defeats and a 2 split draws.

The fight promises to be great as the two warriors are both poised to make a statement and if the make-weight event was barometer to measure then we are in for a fight.

After his defeat to Faris Mamadov via an eighth round TKO in a 12 rounder his stock decreased.

Though he failed in his attempt to claim the then vacant World Boxing Federation’s World Super welterweight title in 2016, the Ugandan recovered very well against the likes of  Joseph Odhiambo who has lost 33 times with only two victories and Baraka Nwakansope.

Badru’s other defeat came against Greg Watson of the United Kingdom and once again got battered via a second round TKO in 2010.

He comes up against Patrick Allotey who has equally seen it all as a boxer. Patrick’s swift jabs and timely punches set him apart and above his opponent.

Patrick’s last defeat came in the year 2016 against the undefeated Kazakhstanian, Kenat Islam via unanimous point decision.

Perhaps his worse defeat was against the Brazilian Patrick Teixeira in 2015 which he lost via a second round TKO he suffered.

What is obvious though is the fact that Badru is yet to fight a boxer in the calibre of Patrick Allotey.

Under Cabic management, Patrick Allotey is totally a transformd boxer.

Another fight to watch out for is the one involving Ghana’s first true heavyweight contender Richard Harrison Lartey who was initially billed to fight Morris Okolla of Nigeria but for a last minute hiccup.

Harrison must now fight his Burkinabe counterpart for a chance to stake a claim and increase his stock.

Boxing Ghana expects the two boxers to do Ghana proud.
