Vasyl Lomachenko(12-1,9KOs) has once again disregarded any possibility of fighting Philipino senator Manny Pacquiao(61-7-2,39 KOs) calling him an “old legend.”
The California based Ukrainian does not fancy a fight with the former 8 divisional champion.
“I think his career is done. I don’t want to become a legend in boxing because of him…listen, I’m not disrespecting Manny Pacquiao, but I don’t want to make my name bigger because I beat an old legend.” Lomachenko stated.
Speculations are rife on a possible unification with the Philipino senator after Pacquiao dispatched former world champion, Adrien Broner.
“Pacquiao has had a long and glorious career, he doesn’t have nothing to prove versus me. I have my own record. There are a lot of good fighters in their primes to fight right now who are comparable to me” Lomachenko stated.
The Ukrainian still considers Pacquiao as an old boxer who is past his prime “He’s old. I think his career is done. I don’t want to become a legend in boxing because of him.”
The winner of next week IBF vacant lightweight strap between Richard Commey and Isa Chaniev at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas is likely to face Lomachenko for a unification bout later this year.
