OKWIRI FIGHTS TANZANIA’S NDARO
…Mandonga Mtukazi meets Wanyonyi

Kenya’s boxing poster boy Rayton “Boom Boom” Okwiri will square it out against Tanzania’s Ally Ndaro on January 14 in a non-title fight headlining a 10-bout card at the KICC Ballroom, Nairobi, from 2pm.

Okwiri (8-1-1, 6 KOs) had been programmed to battle Uganda’s Kassim Ouma who chickened out, forcing the organisers to bring in the Arusha-based Ally Ndaro aka Ngunda (4-0-1, 2KOs).

Tanzania’s big-talking crowd puller Karim “Mtukazi” Mandonga (2-3-1, 1KO) will fight Kenya’s Daniel Wanyonyi (27-14-2, 22 KOs).

In his last fight at home, Mandonga TKO’d compatriot Said Mbelwa. In one of his promotional videos, Mandonga said he’s already in Kenya taking cover in unnamed forest ready to pounce on his prey.

“Huyu Wanyonyi atakoma ubishi, nitampondaponda kishenzi,” boasted Mandonga. Well, let’s wait and see if Mtukazi will walk the talk.

Charges for the card: Sh500, VIP Sh2000, VVIP Sh3000.
