Female boxing coach and referee, Naa Amerley Turkson has appealed to Ghanaians to help her put her gym and training programmes in shape and reality.

She said the nation abounds in talents but there is no support for them, so they end up on the streets pregnant or into other social vices like drinking and smoking.

“I want to help in taking some of the girls from the streets, I want support in cash and kind to help those who are interested in sports or boxing especially” she expressed.

Naa Amerley Turkson who is president of the national amateur ring officials who was speaking on The ImageSports TV said if there is no motivation or little encouragement no one will be interested in doing something, and the nation will fail.

She expressed that the nation can be wealthy only with healthy people, and sports is the way to become healthy and fit.

She called on corporate Ghana to play their part positively and channel some social responsibility events through sports, especially boxing.

She is an assistant to national / internationally accredited three star coach Ofori Asare at the renown Wisdom Boxing Club which has produced boxers like the three Samir brothers – Shakur, Issa and Bastie, Wahid Mohammed, Joshua Quartey, Patrick Ayi aka ‘Alligator’ and others.
