Richard Lartey dreams to become Ghana’s and by extension the continent’s first heavyweight champion of the world when he mounts the ring against Daniel Dubois at the Wembley Arena, Wembley, London in the United Kingdom come Saturday 27, April 2019.
“This is about my dream to become the first world heavyweight champion from Africa. When I beat someone with a big reputation like Dubois, I will get the opportunities and climb up the rankings.” He said.
The Ghanaian who is fast becoming one of the most avoided fighters is determinedly ready to register his presence and make a bold statement on fight night.
“Heavyweights have been avoiding me for a long time now and when I knock out Daniel Dubois then I cannot be avoided any longer. My goal is to become the world heavyweight champion.” He boldly stated.
“People talk too much about young heavyweights who have achieved nothing and beaten nobody. I am happy to do it the hard way and beat these people in front of their own fans.”
“I will make a big statement against Dubois then no-one can deny me what I deserve.” The Jamestown native stated with a clear intent.
The 21 year old Daniel Dubois’ (10-0, 9KOs) reputation is growing thick and fast after a myth of rumours surfaced that he had floored undisputed world champion Anthony Joshua when they sparred a few years ago.
A notion that was later touted as a mere marketing stunt. He must now face a very dangerous opponent in Richard Lartey from Ghana ( 14-1,11 KOs).
