The first bout between Ghana and Mangolia in Debrecen, Hungary.

Ghana suffered it’s first defeat at the on going Bockai Istvan Memorial International Boxing Tournament currently been held in the city of Debrecen, Hungary.

This happens to be the 62nd edition of the annual competition with the Black Bombers B well represented with six boxers and four officials.

It’s early days yet but the Black Bombers B suffered their first defeat against less fancied Mongolia via a TKO.

The tournament was officially outdoored today amidst some pump and pageantry and some fanfare but for what was meant to be an opening victory for Ghana, the Black Bombers B staggered.

Tomorrow will see Ghana pit it’s horns again in the hope to get back on track as far as the competition is concerned.

Under the tutelage of coach Allotey, Ghana has assembled some very talented boxers for this tournament with the likes of Samir Bastie’s younger brother, Shakul Samed included.

When boxingghana.com contacted the vice President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, Abdul Samad Mohammed, he confirmed the defeat but was optimistic about tomorrow’s bout.

“Yes we lost our first bout but tomorrow we go at it again very optimistic.”

Remember the very purpose of the Black Bombers B involvement is to give some international exposure and experience to these budding talents.
