MICKEY GARCIA VS. ERROL SPENCE: WHO IS THE POUND-FOR-POUND BEST FIGHTER?

The bragging rights will be at stake to determine who is pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world when Mickey Garcia clash gloves against the American poster boy Errol Spence at the AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, USA on Saturday 16 March, 2019.

At stake is the enviously romanticised International Boxing Federation World Welterweight Title as well as the vacant World Boxing Council Silver Welterweight Title.

Most boxing connoisseurs have questioned Miguel Angel Garcia (39-0, 30KOs) for his “overly ambitious” decision to dethrone a boxer who is the undefeated king in his welterweight division in Errol Spence (24-0,21KOs).

But Mickey Garcia is unperturbed insisting

“Floyd Mayweather did it all the time, fighting bigger guys, he did it with skills. There’s more to boxing that brute power. That’s why I took this fight. That’s what I want.

Once I do this I will prove to everybody that I am a better fighter than people expect. These kind of victories will open the eyes of doubters.” Garcia bullishly expressed.

The combative southpaw Errol Spence, questioned why Garcia hired strength and conditioning guru Victor Conte, a man who served time in prison in 2005 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute steroids and money laundering.

“It’s cool. I wouldn’t train with (Victor Conte). A tiger don’t change his stripes too many times. He wanna train with him so I don’t know. I heard he was trying to take shots at me on Twitter. We doing VADA testing.” Spence irked.

Garcia has held world titles at featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and super lightweight and is now preparing for his biggest challenge in his clash with the undefeated Texas-bred southpaw Errol Spence Jr. who has become one of boxing’s top stars.

Like we say in Ghana, this is a fight set for the boxing gods and should Mickey Garcia come out top, his merchandise will shoot beyond legendary.

The stage is indeed set for a thriller of a fight.
