Sanctioned by Federazione Pugilistica Italiana, Ghana’s Michael Pappoe (24-5, 20 KOs) has the opportunity to book his name on the IBF World Rankings, as he represents the red, gold, green flag in far away Italy on Friday 31 May. 2019.
He is scheduled to face Italian Mauro Forte (12-0-1, 3 KOs) on Friday, and at stake is the IBF International Featherweight Title as first revealed by KBOXTV.
The billed 10 rounder is being promoted by Italian Buccioni Boxing Team, which is managed by Davide Buccioni.
Pappoe, a former WABU Super Featherweight Champion together with home favourite Forte, headlines the main show at the Palestra Forza e Coraggio, Milan, Lombardia, Italy.
Forte is a former WBC Mediterranean Featherweight Champion and is undefeated in all 13 fights. The 25 year old skillful southpaw from Roma, Lazio in Italy has 13 professional bouts in 70 rounds of boxing action with his only dent being a draw in his second professional bout against Vincenzo Eroe (0-2-2, 0 KOs), a boxer who is yet to register his first professional victory.
Mauro Forte is still the current Italian Featherweight Champion, and is the promoters’ boy going into the fight. He comes up against an experienced 34 year old Michael Pappoe who is equally on a winning streak after his last UD defeat to Isaac Dowuona in 2017.
Michael Pappoe has gone 7 consecutive bouts without a defeat, and he currently commands 180 rounds of Professional pugilism action in 29 bouts with an accumulated percentage ratio of 69 percent as against that of Forte’s 23 percent.
Come Friday at the Palestra Forza e Coraggio in Milan, the odds will be against the Jamestown native, as he tries to unseat the promoters’ boy in far away Italy, but the Ghanaian fights best when their backs are against the wall.
