According to Freddie Roach, long time trainer of Philipino Senator Manny Pacquiao, the legend has at most two fights before he retires for the presidential ambitions.

“He [Pacquiao] won’t fight this year,” Roach said. “But if this [pandemic] ever goes away, and I’m not sure it will because it’s getting worse and worse, not better and better, but I think Manny will fight once or twice more before he becomes the president of his country. And then he will retire.” The Hall of Famer reiterated.

Widely regarded as one of the best boxing trainers of all time, Frederick Steven Roach further talked about a possible matchup between Mikey Garcia and Pacquiao but was indecisive on the possible venue

“He will fight again, I feel, and from when I’ve talked to him, he wants to fight once or twice more,” Roach said. “But the thing is, it could be anywhere from the U.S. to Saudi Arabia, anywhere. They were talking about Mikey Garcia and I said, ‘Yeah, that’s the perfect fight for Manny. But I don’t think we’ll really know until this [pandemic] is over.” He expressed.

Roach sacrificed to train Pacquiao in the Philippines last year and their relationship is close to two decades now. Amongst the celebrated boxers he’s trained are Mike Tyson, Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya, Steve Collins, Amir Khan and Miguel Cotto are just a few of the names to step between the Wild Card ropes.
