Former IBF world light champion, Richard Commey will be mounting the ring once again against former WBO lightweight champion, Jose Pedraza, Boxinghana.com has learned.
In a report gathered by Boxinghana, the James Town native will be making his super lightweight debut in July.
The exact date and site for the much-anticipated clash between Commey (30-4, 27 KOs) and Pedraza (29-4, 14KOs) are yet to be confirmed.
Commey and Pedraza fight will be on Top Rank Boxing card on ESPN as the official announcement is expected to be made soon.
Commey’s last outing in the ring was December 11, 2021, when he lost to three-division world champion, Vasiliy Lomachenko via unanimous decision at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
For Pedraza, he also lost his last bout courtesy unanimous decision when he went toe-to-toe with Jose Carlos Ramirez on March 4, 2022.
