Fast rising Nigerian super featherweight prospect Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab is gradually inching closer to his dream of becoming a world champion as he is set to clash with his British counterpart Liam Dillon come July 23 in a Commonwealth title eliminator bout.
The “Sensational Wahab” Oluwaseun (20-0, 15KOs) who successfully defended his WBO Africa Super feather title against Jackson Malinyingi in December last year after winning the vacant strap five months earlier via a round 5KO off Muksini Swalehe, is looking forward to face his toughest test against another unbeaten prospect in Liam Dillon (10-0-1, 2KOs).
Nevertheless, the London born orthodox is yet to face a tough opponent in Joshua Wahab who commands a higher KO ratio of 68% after 22 professional fights compared to Dillon’s 18% after 11 pro fights.
The 12 rounds Commonwealth Super Featherweight title eliminator bout is scheduled to happen from the York Hall, Bethnal Green, London, United Kingdom. It must be noted that, Liam Dillon after 11 pro fights is yet to fight in a 12 rounder bout and must therefore prepare very well to face such a KO artist in the ring for 12 rounds.
The title eliminator bout dubbed BoxMania Two is being promoted by Josh Goodwin in association with Lou Dibella’s DiBella Entertainment.
On paper, this fight shouldn’t be a big deal for the self acclaimed ‘Wealth Machine’ who is poised to put a world title belt on his waist pretty soon but must be cautious as he faces an opponent who is fighting on home soil.
