Joseph Agbeko wins via a 10th round TKO, promises fans of even better future performance!

Indeed it was an eyesore at the Woezor Hotel in Ho, the Volta Region of Ghana as two time former bantamweight world champion Joseph ‘King Kong’ Agbeko decisioned his counter-part Ekow Wilson via a 10th round TKO in his maiden defence of his WBO Africa bantamweight strap that he secured in March of this year 2018.

Truth be told,  Agbeko started very well amidst the chants from the locals “King Kong” King Kong ” that energized the former world champion to up his game.

His flurry combinations of punches wore his opponent out and it was no surprise when the knockout came in the 10th round of the scheduled twelve.

After the bout Agbeko attributed the victory to hard work

“Hard work, there were alot of challenges, Aflao fans gave me alot of courage……”Agbeko stated.

He took the opportunity to thank his promoters for their unflinching support throughout the times.

“Thanks to promoters, Uncle Rich of Aborigins promotions, they believed so much in me even after a bad performance, they still believed in me and encouraged me a lot and that motivated me alot.

Agbeko further promised the fans of a better things to come in the future.

” I will say this is just the beginning. In my next fight you will see a better performance than this one.” Agbeko told our Volta Regional Reporter Yaw Ansa-Asare.

He paid homage to his technical team led by Coach Ofori Asare now Doctor Ofori Asare.

“Big thank you to my coach Ofori Asare, he has helped me, he’s been my coach from the amateur days, I mean Dr. Ofori Asare….Thank you very much.”Agbeko Said.

Going into the bout there were growing concerns about Agbeko’s age but on the night he proved most doubters wrong with his crisp and power combinations that unsettled his counter-part and foe on the night, Ghana’s Ekow Wilson.
