Ghana’s Commonwealth Games 2018 Bronze medalist, Jessie Lartey has praised BoxingGhana.com and other media houses like Daily Guide for their professionalism and presentation of news stories.
Speaking to Yours Truly in an exclusive interview at Oshieyie in Accra where the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) honoured former president Ray Quarcoo for his contribution towards Ghana Sports and Boxing in particular, he said the media is very important for the promotion of the sport and athletes.
He said the media has made him popular after his achievement in the rings and wants to shower praises on a few journalists like Yours Truly aka General One and a few others.
Jessie Lartey disclosed that he is very much focused on the future with Tokyo 2020 as his main target and wants to win a medal.
“When we went to the Commonwealth Games, we lacked many things, but we have now seen and know all. I want to promise that Tokyo 2020 will be different because now we know our target and aim. I assure all Ghanaians that 2020 will be our time to shine for Ghana and Africa. We shall do it” he expressed.
Ambassador Ray Quarcoo who had been a Sports Goodwill Ambassador was honoured and rewarded by the GBF and the Ghana Boxing Supporters Union (GBSU) at his new Premier beach resort at Oshieyie.
Many chiefs and top executives graced the event which was lighted up by Gyedu Blay Ambulley, Bukom Banku, Chris One and New Testament, all top musicians who entertained the guests.
George Lamptey. President of the GBF praised Ambassador Quarcoo for his guidance and support for amateur boxing and hoped for a better future for the Black Bombers, the national boxing team who have been selected and are preparing for international tournaments.
