Ghana’s Jesse Manyo Plange knocked out his Nigerian counterpart, Sherrif Kareem via a classical round three TKO yesterday at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra Ghana at the second edition of Bukom Fist of Fury boxing league.
The gruelling duel saw the former skipper of the Black Bombers, display some boxing artistry with proper exhibition power combinations coupled with some lovely jabs and straight hooks to the body. In fact the self styled ‘Black Flash’ Jesse Manyo Plange (20-0-1, 16 KOs) was simply an artist in the square ring as he practically schooled his highly rated West African nemesis in Sherrif Kareem (9 – 2, 7, KOs).
By this victory, Manyo’s hopes of capturing the world title for his motherland Ghana is gradually shaping up as he secures the Professional Boxing Council(PBC) belt as against the initially agreed World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Global super flyweight strap with John Chuwa but had to be postponed.
On the night, Ghana’s WBO Global titlist Wasiru Mohammed knocked out his tough Beninoise customer, John Amuzu in the 4th round to defend his strap in his maiden defense of the global belt.
Crowd lover, Faisal Abubakar, aka Poncho Power needed just a round to silence his opponent who refused to answer to the bell for the second round hostilities.
“Thank you for your massive support. In my life, I have always been surrounded by a lot of amazing and loyal people, thank you very much once again for your kind support, prayers and time, may the almighty richly bless you abundantly. AGBAAAA AGBAAAA AGBAAAA” Faisal posted on his facebook page.
The pride of Somanya, Prince Oko Nartey also made a quick work on his Phillip Kweku in the first round when he totally demolished him via a round one TKO in their Super Middleweight contest billed for 8 rounds.
In all, the show was a complete sell-out.
