Former Ghana National Cruiserweight Champion Jacob Dickson has proposed a challenge to the reigning champion Haruna Mohammed to a battle in the ring for Ghanaians to see who is the real champion in the division.

He spoke to Yours Truly last Friday night in an exclusive interview on Omashi TV.

“Tell Haruna Sadat i will punish and devour him” he stressed.

According to ‘The Beast’ as he loves to be called due to his job as a boxer and wants to be recognised as one of the great boxers Ghana has produced.

Starting the sport at 14 years many people thought he could not make it because he escaped juvenile boxing starting with football, but for his structure and strength he was enticed into boxing at the Bronx Boxing Gym at Jamestown by an admirer called Atakyi Maxwell

Dickson lost his dad at age 8 and after completion of Zion School JHS at Mamprobi, he decided to go into sports.

He is most grateful to Coach Carl Lokko and the entire training staff and colleague boxers at Bronx.

“Our gym is a home of champions and everyone is a star in his own class at Bronx because it is an international brand name in USA, Scotland and Ghana” he expressed.

Dickson 13-1-0 who was born and bred at Jamestown hinted that his single lose in France taught him many things and he has gained more experience with the exposure hoping to give his fans good performance.

He said the bout against Haruna Mohammed is long overdue due and hopes to please his admirers with a classic show.

“I think my game is up now than it was two years ago,  I have improved a lot and my fans will enjoy my next fight”

Meanwhile Ayitey Powers Promotions has agreed to host the bout against Haruna Mohammed Sadat on November 23 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

“This is one of the fights we want to see” said Abdul Rasheed Williams aka Believerr a coach and matchmaker.

The camp of Haruna has accepted the challenge and by courtesy of Ayitey Powers it is taking place.

Coach Asare of the Wisdom Boxing Gym who handles Haruna thinks they are ready.
