It’s Official : Rematch between Canelo and Golovkin is set for May 5

The match anticipated rematch between two very popular pugilist Canelo Alvarez and Gennedy Golovkin (GGG) has been set for May the 5th on HBO pay per-view.

The last time the two squared off against each other , it ended in a controversial split draw before a sold out audience at the T-Mobile Arena in the city of Las Vegas, USA.

Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KO) and Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KO) will go against each again with a point to prove and Golden Boy Promotions did not mince time at all in posting the news on theirk official Twitter account.

Since then, both Golovkin (35) and Canelo ( 27) have both made official statements to that effect as well.

“I’m delighted to once again participate in one of the most important boxing events in history,” stated Canelo.

“This second fight is for the benefit and pleasure of all fans who desire to see the best fight the best. This time, Golovkin won’t have any excuses regarding the judges because I’m coming to knock him out.” further belched.

Golovkin later made a statement  of his own as well Stating  ” I am ready to battle Canelo again and am happy he took this fight again, This is the fight the world wants. This is the fight boxing deserves. I didn’t agree with some of the judges’ decisions in the first fight. This time there will be no doubt. I am leaving the ring as the middleweight champion of the world.” emphatically articulated Golovkin.
