Isaac Sackey punches his way into the top 15 WBO world rankings
The current 2X WBO Africa super bantamweight champion, Isaac Sackey has punched his way into the latest World Boxing Organization (WBO) January rankings released yesternight.
Sackey secured the number 15th position in a hard-core group that houses Mexican Emanuel Navarrete as the champion in the Junior featherweight 122 lbs which translates into 55.3 kgs.
The Ghanaian is one of Ghana’s brightest world championship prospects, who is gradually inching closer to getting a shot at the WBO world title.
Notable amongst the top 15 list is current WBO Global Champ Wasiru Mohammed popularly known as ‘Gyata Bi’ at the 10th position. Wasiru is pencilled to make his first defense against John Amuzu from Benin in a week’s time on the 31st of January at the second edition of the Bukom Fist of Fury national boxing league.
Isaac Sackey, a former Ghanaian Super Bantam Titlist, has 25 professional bouts to his credit, 23 victories, 20 by way of knockouts, a draw with one defeat against his nemesis Wasiru Mohammed.
With 116 rounds of boxing to his credit and a KO percentage ratio of 80%, Isaac Sackey has the skill set to raise the flag of Ghana high and the latest news is a step towards the world championship direction.
