Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe defeats Adam Lopez after an exciting 10-round featherweight contest on the card of Naoya Inoue vs Michael Dasmarinas last night in Las Vegas edging Adam Lopez via a majority decision (95-95, 96-94 and 97-93) to win the NABF featherweight title.

The former WBO Super Bantamweight champion after he lost twice to Emanuel Navarrete announced his come back when he won his fight thereafter against Chris Avalos in July last year and also winning last night in a keenly contested 10-round battle in a featherweight contest winning the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) feather title in the process.

In his statement after the hotly contested bout, Dogboe said

“I was pretty confident I’d get that decision because I controlled the fight for the first six rounds. I was posing too much and got a little too careless. Every now and then, I stayed in the pocket a little too long and forced too much. But, listen, Adam is a great guy. He showed the pedigree. We promised it would be a firefight. It takes two to tango.

“A lot of people wrote me off after those losses to Navarrete and said I was overhyped. People like me, we don’t stay down forever. We get back up. I have to thank my team. They’re not just trainers, they are family. God wanted me to be there.” Dogboe concluded.

It was an important win for the former world champion and an opportunity to correct the wrongs as he aim to become a 2-time world champion.

Congratulations to Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe for this important fight.
