The World Boxing Organization in its new world rankings has placed its former super bantamweight world champion Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe in the number one (1) position in the featherweight category.

The Ghanaian is now the WBO number 1 rated contender in the featherweight division of the world.

Isaac Dogboe (23-2, 15KOs) having lost to just one man (twice) in his entire professional career of (25 fights) has been on winning ways after surrendering his World title to the current WBO featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete in 2018 and also 2019 in the rematch.

The Royal Storm Dogboe in a mission to become a two-time world champion just like his role model Professor Azumah Nelson, knocked out Chris Avalos in the final eighth round in a featherweight contest from The Bubble, MGM Grand, Vegas to set the ball rolling.

He continued with his mission against his old friend Adam Lopez in June 2019, winning the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) featherweight title via a slim majority decision.

Dogboe’s first NABF title defense was against Puerto Rican featherweight prospect Christopher Diaz from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States where he decisioned his opponent after a 10 round contest to successfully defend his title.

It’s indeed worth rewarding for the former world champion to be on the front line once again as the No. 1 contender for the WBO Featherweight title of which his old foe, Emanuel ‘Vaquero’ Navarrete (35-1, 29KOs) is the holder.

In a tweet, the Royal Storm, he notified WBO of his readiness for a world title shot.

“Número Uno! Number One In The Whole Wide World…

@WorldBoxingOrg

Humbly And Patiently Waiting For My Shot!!! 👑 #2022 💪🏾🇬🇭

#NEHO #GODISKING”

It is still unclear who Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe will be fighting next.

Boxing Ghana wishes to CONGRATULATE the former world champion on climbing to the top once more after a tough period he suffered with his back to back defeats to Navarette.
