International matchmaker, Solomon Otoo, says newly crowned interim WBO World super bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe (18-0, 12KOs) is a ‘Lion.’ after the latter stopped Cesar Juarez.
The 23 year-old former Olympian stopped Juarez (25-6, 15 KOs) in round five to claim the vacant WBO interim title on Saturday night at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana.
Dogboe dropped Juarez in round two, and battered him for the remaining two minutes. Juarez recovered well and round three was toe-to-toe.
Juarez was floored again in round five. He beat the count, but was in bad shape and the bout was stopped by referee Tony Weeks.
“I knew Dogboe will stop Juarez, i have been telling people,”Otoo told Boxingghana.com after the fight.
“Nobody can defeat Dogboe now, for me he is a lion. Anybody that comes his way he will stop that person.”
Otoo was recently honoured with International Matchmaker of the year award by the British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA).
