I’m Ready For A Title Shot – Emmanuel Otoo

Share

Featherweight boxer Emmanuel Otoo grew up in Korle Gonno, a suburb of Accra not far from the famed Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

A feisty young chap with a belligerent and gladiatorial outlook, Otoo got into trouble with authorities at the Kitson Mills Basic School, leading to his dismissal in just Primary Six.

He left home but found solace in the confines of the Black Panthers Boxing Gym where Assistant Trainer George Smart Abbey (Currently Head Trainer at The Accra Boxing Club) took special interest in him.

After winning on his debut in June 2017, Otoo has gone ahead to garner a record of 5 wins, 4 losses and 2 draws.

He has shared the ring with the likes of Manyo Plange, Alfred Lamptey, Emmanuel Quartey aka Akuffo Addo, John Zile among others.

Currently experiencing a career renaissance after signing a contract with Osibor Boxing Management And Promotions, the witty boxer-puncher aptly nicknamed “Smart” is calling out UBO Featherweight champ and Ace Power signee Holy Dorgbetor for a showdown.

“I feel I can outsmart, outpunch him and make him cower,” Otoo told Boxing Writer Sam Nana Gold in an interview.

“I want to beat Holy Dorgbetor to prove to the world what I’m made of. His toughest opponent was Success Tetteh who is no match for me”, he added.

He thanked his manager Gordon Frimpong aka Osibor and his coach; Benard Armah: Head Trainer of the Chorkor Champions Boxing Gym.

Otoo stressed on winning a championship before the year comes to a close.
