“IM GOING TO MAKE GHANA PROUD AGAIN “- TAKYI VOWS AFTER FIGHT CANCELLATION.

 

Olympic bronze medallist, Samuel Takyi, has apologized to fans for his fight cancellation due to ill health and has promised a return on March 6, 2023.

” I thank all my fans for their everyday support and I also want to apologize for my fight which was supposed to happen on 30th December, 2022 but was later postponed. I want them all to know that it will be coming on this 6th March 2023 and it’s going to be fire as they know.” He told Boxing Ghana.

A protégé of Ike Bazooka Quartey and his Bazooka Promotions, the 21 year old was scheduled to fight Victor Kuwornu in a National lightweight championship bout on December the 30 but the fight had to be cancelled due to his ill health.

Takyi, the fifth Ghanaian Olympic medalist further reiterated his commitment to both his loyal fans and Ghana in general.

“This year is going to be fire so they should watch out for me. I’m going to make the country proud again.”

Samuel Takyi aka ‘Ring Warrior’ is yet to fight any Ghanaian after his first two professional fights away in Nigeria and South Africa.

The Jamestown native just secured the most promising boxer of the year award by Boxing Ghana and a lot is expected of him in 2023.
