British boxer Amir Khan (37-4, 20 KOs) is calling for a fight with former seven weight world champion Manny Pacquaio (69-7, 2, 39 KOs) in December for what is said to be his biggest career defining fight.

Speaking after conquering Samuel Vargas on Saturday, surviving an early knockdown to win by points against the Columbian, Khan reiterated his firm desire to fight the Philipino Senator.

“Manny Pacquiao is the bigger legacy fight, because he is such a big name, and I want to end my career with a stadium night and a world title fight, I want Pacquaio.” Amir Khan told the Press.

With his four career losses, the former light-welterweight world champion knows that the stakes are high as far as his career is concerned, and is therefore managing his career options.

“Obviously as a fighter, I’m going to go for the best option financially. But both fights are tough.” Speaking on both possibilities of fighting Kell Brook or one time sparring partner Manny Pacquaio.

The Britain’s youngest boxing Olympic medalist prefers to fight his icon and role model Manny Pacquaio because he knows it’s his best option which could fetch him enough purse.

“I want a super-fight with a massive name and I’d love it in a stadium.” King Khan Said.

Having held the WBA title from 2009 to 2012, Many were expecting Amir Iqbal Khan to dominate the boxing scene but for a devastating knockout defeat to Saul Canelo Alvarez in 2016 confined Khan to his current status.

Now,  the one time unified light welterweight champion fights more for the money than anything though he claims otherwise.

“I still love training, still love to learn and still want to fight the best.” Khan stated.

With the Americans dominating the division, It’s no surprise that he is rather fancying his chances against the Philipino Senator knowing very well that Pacquaio’s purse demands are high.

“Manny needs to know I’ve got other options (Kell Brook), he is not going to make the same kind of money fighting anyone else.” Amir Khan voiced his message to Pacquaio.

What is fundamental is the fact that both Manny and Khan are in the twilight of their careers and are after the money.

Truth be told if Manny exhibits even 60 percent of his abilities shown against Matthysse then Khan will surely kiss his career good bye.
