I respect Lomachenko for his decision and would have done same for my country – Richard Commey.
Richard Oblitey Commey has recently been speaking with the ring Magazine. In the short video interview, the former World Champion touched on a number of topics including his mental health after his defeat to Lomachenko a few months back.
Richard said “I have overcome the lost, boxing is a game and you either win or lose. I lost but I was impressed with my performance.”
He also revealed he will be fighting in July.
In a related story linked to the conversation, the report enquired how Commey viewed Lomachenko’s decision to put his career on a pause, to fight for his country’s sovereignty.
He answered in an affirmative that as boxers, once you take up the gloves, you are fighting for your country and he would not hesitate to do so if Ghana was in a similar situation.
