Adrien Jerome Broner (33-3-1, 24KO) and a four divisional champion in an interview after training session as he prepares for the all important fight of his lifetime with Manny Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39KO) in a showtime main event on January 19 at the GMG Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas for the WBA Welterweight (147lbs) title.

Broner explained how elated he is to have come this far. In an interview, the swift and hard talker Broner emotionally discussed the moment he seriously chose boxing as his profession when he ever get out of the jail cell as he was confined to at that time.

When asked whether he has worked his way to prominence to merit this fight with Pacquiao, Broner responded saying it is a combination of God’s factor and determination.

“Got in trouble, got in trouble, went to jail. Was facing like 57 years. My trial date was coming up, I had like a week left. I was doing 23 hours in my room, 1 hour out a day, and I was writing raps. Then I just stopped, looked out the window…I’m like ‘man, what the fuck I’ma do if I get out?”

“I was like ‘aight, I’ma sell drugs.’..then I was like ‘nah, I’ll be back in here.’ Then I was like ‘I’ma box.’ I made up my mind that day that if God let me out of here, I’ma box…

“Then a week later I got out, and I ran to the gym. And now I’m here fighting Pacquiao. I never thought in a million years I’d be here.” Broner concluded.

Adrien Broner had come from a draw decision fight against Jessie Vargas in 147lbs contest and a unanimous decision loss against Mikey Garcia for a vacant WBC Diamond Super lightweight (140lbs) title and is now eyeing a shot with Pacquaio come 19 January.
