“I look at Wilder like i do at Mike Tyson… Never bet against a puncher” – Manny Pacquiao

It’s about to go down this Saturday at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, USA as one of the most anticipated bouts in boxing history as two undefeated giants clash in the square ring.

The words of war against each other [Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder] over the years has been countless but they’ve actually fought just once with no one in particular emerging victorious.

The bragging hasn’t been left for the two pugilists as some boxing greats and chmpions have given their opinions on who comes top in a head to head clash between the BronzeBomber and the Gypsy King.

Evander Holyfield, Hall of Famer
“I’m picking Deontay Wilder based on his confidence and the fact that he does all of the right things to remain in great shape, and that he’s committed to his craft.

“Wilder’s not just a big guy with a right hand, but he’s also become more calculated in his approach.

Manny Pacquiao, WBA Welterweight World Champion chooses Wilder and said this
“Never bet against a puncher, particularly one like Deontay Wilder. I look at Wilder like I do at a Mike Tyson, another puncher.”

Luis Ortiz, heavyweight contender also fancies the BronzeBomber
“Looking at what Wilder was able to do with me during the championship rounds of our first fight and also much sooner than that in our second fight, he’s going to be worrying about taking a similar shot”.

Michael Conlan, WBO No. 1 Featherweight Contender
“He [Tyson Fury] needs to be even more careful this time, but he looks like he’s put in some serious work and is ready to finish what he started last time.”

Jamel Herring, WBO Junior Lightweight world champion also went for the Gypsy “If Fury can box the same way he boxed in the first fight, without any scares, he can pull it off. On the flip side, it’s hard to pick against Wilder, as he always looks more impressive in rematches.”

The christened rematch on 22nd February this Saturday is more or likely to settle the score as the WBC Heavyweight title is the reward for this important fight.

After a close look at both fighters, I personally tip Tyson Fury to win the fight if he does well to avoid knockdowns from Wilder.

Wishing both the best.
