23 year old boxing prodigy, Derick Kwei Mensah Quaye, popularly known as “Show Love” by the boxing fraternity, squared off with 34yr old former Ghana National Light weight Champion and Commonwealth contender, Michael “One Bullet” Ansah at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra-Ghana, in a 10 round Super Lightweight contest.

The much anticipated main bout of the night finally came off where Derick “Show Love” Quaye quenched the thirst of his fans and spectators at the arena and beyond with a thrilling performance as he dominated and won the first round.

Coming into the second round, Ansah, with much experience of 38 fights and 23 wins under his belt was expected to turn the tides to his side or better still contain Derick Quaye.

But young hungry “Show Love” Quaye silenced his opposing fans by knocking out Michael Ansah, 1 minute and 23 seconds into the second half, as Referee, Roger Barnor stopped the fight.

Derick, after his glorious victory was asked what did the magic for him, where he said “I am preparing myself for the world title, so i have to beat the champions to become a champion. That is enough motivation to do my magic”.

The young boxer got emotional and burst into tears as he spoke, thanking his maker, his management and fans for supporting him to this stage of his career.

Quaye has tallied his undefeated streak to 6 wins (4KOs) and 1 draw.

The new Bukom hero is currently ranked in Ghana at #6 out of 36 and #316 out of 1,841 worldwide.
